After Care

Remove dressing after 3-4 hours, Very gently wash your tattoo with warm water and mild soap, pat dry with kitchen towel (do not rub dry or buff). When completely dry apply a thin layer of either cocoa butter (available from most chemists) or Tattoo After Care cream available from the front of the shop. Follow this procedure 3 times a day for the first 3 days.

  • DO NOT recover after the 3 days but continue to wash 2-3 times and apply cream.

  • DO NOT rub or pick any scabs off your tattoo, this will affect healing and lead to patchiness and scarring.

  • DO NOT wear tight clothing or anything that rubs the tattoo. Avoid heavy exercise for the first couple of days to reduce the amount of friction from clothing and excess sweat.

AVOID for two weeks sunbathing, swimming, long baths, saunas, dirt, oil, grease, paint, industrial cleaners, raw meat, creams, or ointments other than recommended tattoo aftercare creams.

AVOID mixing any cement, as this can get into your tattoo and give it a bit of unwanted texture with a hint of permanence.

If you experience any redness or swelling which lasts longer than the first 3 days, give the studio a call.

A rash is likey to be a reaction to cream.
